InStyle and Audi 'Women of Style' Awards 2012

Last night, Tuesday May 15, 2012, at the InStyle and Audi Women of Style Awards, Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr received top honours at the prestigious ceremony, securing the coveted Readers’ Choice Award as Australia’s most stylish woman.

In front of an audience of more than 300 guests, Kerr was presented with the accolade, a recognition of her success in managing her ever-expanding international career commitments alongside her responsibilities as founder of organic beauty brand, Kora Organics by Miranda Kerr.

Beauty entrepreneur, international model, fashion ambassador, wife, mother – Miranda is the Aussie country girl who’s hot property globally,” said Kerrie McCallum, editor of InStyle.

“Despite her incredible success, Miranda has retained a natural appeal which has clearly struck a chord with the Australian public – and her Readers’ Choice win is testament to this enduring charm.”

The top honour was Kerr’s second win of the evening, having earlier received an award in the Beauty category for her brand Kora Organics. She shared the category success with Rebecca Morrice Williams, founder of Becca.

Asher Keddie won the hotly contested News and Entertainment category, beating contenders Rose Byrne and Natalie Imbruglia. Hers was one of the hottest outfits of the night, a fabulous man-style tux, with a sexy feminine edge. [I also love both of Megan Washington's outfits!]

Other award winners included Nikki Gemmell and Lally Katz, who tied in the Arts & Culture category; Pamela Easton and Lydia Pearson (Easton Pearson) in Fashion; and Kate Weiss in Business. Indira Naidoo was announced as Winner in the Lifestyle category, trumping nominees Donna Hay and Michelle Bridges.

"The InStyle and Audi Women of Style Awards are the country’s premier awards recognising the efforts of outstanding women who not only display innovation and passion, but also have a special place in Australian culture today," McCallum said.

Former Home & Away and All Saints actress Alyssa McClelland received a $10,000 InStyle and Audi Style Scholarship, to help her dream of being a dircetor. McClelland is set to invest the money into the production of her film Sleep Tonight, and in studying comedic directing in Chicago.

Guests at the Sydney event included Collette Dinnigan, Layne Beachley, the divine Sally Obermeder, Erika Heynatz, Kate Ritchie, Melissa Doyle, Kylie Gillies, Lara Bingle, Rachael Finch, Brooke Satchwell, Jessica Rowe, Kerri-Anne Kennerley, Jodi Gordon, Lisa Ho, Samantha Harris, Charlotte Dawson, and Rachel Gilbert.

All winners were selected by the InStyle and Audi Women of Style judging panel which included: Deborra-lee Furness, Actress and Human Rights Advocate; Collette Dinnigan, Fashion Designer; Layne Beachley, Entrepreneur and Environmental Campaigner; Jana Wendt, Journalist and Author; Elizabeth Ann Macgregor, Director, Museum of Contemporary Art, Australia; Gillian Armstrong, Film Director; Louise Olsen, Designer and Creative Director, Dinosaur Designs; Katie Page, CEO, Harvey Norman Holdings; and Janet Markus, General Manager—Marketing, Audi Australia.
